Rural Texas Psychoeducational Services, PLLC
RTX offers compassionate support to children, families, and parents through counseling/psychotherapy, comprehensive assessments, consultation services, and educational guidance toward achieving school support. Whether addressing emotional challenges, identifying learning needs, or navigating a system of complicated school services, RTX is dedicated to empowering families with the tools and insights they need to foster growth and success. Explore our website to learn more about evidence-based Play Therapy techniques and the benefits to children, parents, and adults of all ages, and the advantages of working with a Registered Play Therapist™, especially a therapist who is also a
Certified AutPlay Therapy© Provider with advanced training and experience working with neurodivergent clients
(Autism, ADHD, OCD, Tourette's, learning/developmental disabilities, etc.).
Therapeutic services are not limited to children (2-17), but specialized interventions can be provided to adults across the lifespan with specific counseling services aimed at supporting senior adults in maintaining cognitive efficiency and emotional well-being. See the link below to learn more!
Additionally, RTX can offer comprehensive evaluations for children needing a diagnosis of ADHD, Autism, learning, cognitive, behavioral, or developmental disabilities to obtain treatment either with us or another provider requiring diagnosis. Our evaluation session scheduling and report turnaround times are minimal in comparison to many provider waitlists at major clinics and facilities in big cities, which can often be 18-24 months. Contact us to discuss your specific needs, and let's discuss how an assessment can be tailored to meet your goals. Paula Lyssy has worked as a school psychologist (LSSP) providing psychological services in schools across South Texas for more than 25 years and can help parents who have requested an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) from their child's school district.
Staffing rural school districts with qualified, experienced professional evaluation staff is a critical shortage issue in public education. If you are a school administrator seeking contracted evaluations for eligibility determination or related services from a school psychologist who understands PLAAFPs, IEP goal development, ARD supplements, and related service eligibility requirements, and you want a legally compliant report with meaningful educational recommendations, visit our page or contact us to discuss you school's specific needs for contracted services. RTX also accepts evaluation referrals from Charter or Private Schools, Montessori Academies, and Head Start centers needing mental health/disability screenings.
As a state board-approved (BHEC) LPC-Supervisor and experienced LSSP, Paula Lyssy is available for licensing supervision of LPC-Associates and LSSP-Interns seeking licensure. See the link to contact us for more information. Community, School, Daycare, Head Start, and State or Private Agency trainings for staff development purposes are also available.
